Frequently asked questions.

A: Each grind of coffee is ideally meant for different uses. Following is what we suggest you use each grind for:
Course: French Press, Cold Brew, Percolator, Cowboy Coffee
Medium Coarse: Chemex, Pour-Over Coffee Maker
Medium: Drip Coffee Makers, Pour-Over Brewers, Batch Brewers
Medium Fine: Pour-Over (Cone-Shaped), Aeropress, Moka Pot (Stovetop), Single Serve Pour-Overs
Fine: Espresso
Extra Fine: Turkish
Q: Does coffee have an expiration date?
A: On average, a bag of coffee should last typically 3 to 5 months if stored properly.
Q: How should I store my coffee?
A: All our coffee comes fresh in sealed valve lock bags. If you do not want to use it immediately, it is suggested that you leave it in the sealed valve lock bag until you’re ready to begin use. Once you open the bag, it is recommended to pour the coffee into a canister with a sealed lid. Coffee should be stored in a cool, dark, and dry place, such as a cabinet.
Q: How much should I use when brewing?
A: The amount of coffee you should use is dependent upon how strong you want your coffee to be. Typically, about 1.5oz is brewed in a 10-12 cup auto drip coffee pot. Remember that the more coffee you use when brewing, the stronger the finished product will be.
White Coffee
Q: How is Wired Willey’s White Coffee used?
A: Wired Willey’s White Coffee is primarily used in espresso machines, but it can also be used in a French press or drip coffee machine. In espresso machines, we remind all of our customers not to tamp white coffee, as it expands when water is added. For best results, run one shot through and discard, pull another shot using the same grounds for actual use. In a drip coffee maker or French press, we recommend that you fill your basket/carafe with about 1/3 or 1/2 the usual amount of “traditional roasted” coffee. Then you can adjust the amount to your own taste.
Q: How much caffeine does white coffee have?
A: The amount of caffeine in our white coffee depends a lot on how you prepare it. Extraction time, quantity, and temperature all affect caffeine content.
Q: Does white coffee really have less acidity?
A: In short— YES! We have heard many ‘testimonials’ from customers who thought they had to give up coffee due to the havoc it wreaked on their stomachs. Due to the lower acidity content in our white coffee, many people have been able to enjoy white coffee with no issues.
Q: What pairs well with white coffee?
A: Our favorites are white chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut, lavender, and raspberry, which all complement the flavor profile of our white coffee. A helpful tip is to look for any flavor that goes well with a ‘nutty, earthy’ brew.
